The Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary (PNOD), the third largest bird sanctuary in the world, is located in Senegal in the Senegal River delta, approximately 55 km north of Saint-Louis. It covers 16,000 hectares (sometimes cited as 17,000) and is a major stopover for migratory birds.
